Rinard – Melva Mosher, 90, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa. A private graveside service will be held in the Cedar Cemetery near Rinard, Iowa on Saturday, March 19 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to breast cancer research.

Melva was born on January 21, 1932, in Lake City, Iowa to Thomas and Bessie (Brown) Painter. She grew up and attended school in the Lake City area. On December 24, 1948, Melva was united in marriage to Billie Mosher in Fort Dodge. The couple made their home in Rinard where they were blessed with eight children and celebrated 51 years of marriage.

As a devoted wife and mother, Melva spent most of her time caring for her family. She enjoyed going square dancing with her husband, opening her home for fried-chicken dinners and was known for making the best birthday cinnamon rolls. Melva also enjoyed decorating, watching the birds and other wildlife, completing word searches and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Left to mourn her passing are daughters, Janice (Norman) Dudley of Scranton, Jolene (John) Dumdei of South Sioux City, Nebraska, Vickie (Keith) Mace of Olathe, Kansas and Sherry Mace of Jefferson; sons, Randy (Jane) Mosher of Callendar and Kevin Mosher of Rinard; daughter-in-law, Julie Mosher of Gowrie; 20 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; sister, Lela Mae Titus of Sac City; and many other relatives and friends.

Melva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Mosher, Sr.; sons, Bill Mosher, Jr. and Denny Mosher; son-in-law, Wayne Mace; great-granddaughter, Gracie Ann Spangler; brothers, Jim, TJ and Richard; and brother-in-law Ralph Titus.
