Michael W. Arends, age 55, of Pocahontas, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at his home in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Michael William Arends was born on October 8, 1969, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of LeRoy and LaVonne (Reinders) Arends. Mike graduated from the Pocahontas High School in 1989 and continued his education for a short time in Waterloo. On January 4, 2000, Mike married Echo Alexander in Pocahontas. They lived in Laurens and Mike worked for Bobalee and Fisher Hydraulics. He also worked for Eaton Corp. in Spencer and Butler Custom Pumping. In 2011, Mike moved to Pocahontas and worked for Armstrong Machine.

Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan.

Survivors include his children, Gunnar Arends, Cage Arends and Ataya Arends, all of Laurens; granddaughter, Odessa King; sisters, RoxAne Cundiff of Nampa, ID and Wendy (Don) Samuelson of Laurens, and many nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dalton Arends; brother, Danny Arends, and brother-in-law, Jeff Cundiff.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested in Mike's name to his family.
