Michael "Mick" Shimon, age 66, of Havelock, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at his home in Havelock, Iowa after prolonged health issues.

Born June 19, 1959, to Donald and Mary Shimon in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He was raised on the family farm in Havelock.

Mick worked several jobs before being employed by Luft and Sons, where he worked for several years. He then worked for Pocahontas County in their road department until his health forced him to retire.

Mick is survived by his daughter, Hannah Hofman (Nate) of Brandon, SD, granddaughters Aurora and Lorelei; son, Alex Shimon of Laurens; brothers, James (Judy) and Dan; sister, Louise (Steve); step-mother, Delores Shimon, and ex-wife, Alida Cogswell.

Mick was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Don; mother, Mary, and brothers Steve (Jamie) and Larry.

There will be no formal services, but there is a family celebration scheduled for Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 1-5 PM, at Mick's home in Havelock (1201 Cleveland Street). All are invited to stop in to share condolences and stories with his family.
