Mitchell L. Nehring, age 50, of Laurens, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Mitchell Lamont Nehring was born August 6, 1975 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. He was the son of Richard Wells and Karmin (Nehring) Jansen. In his youth, Mitch lived in California for a few years until he was 12 when he returned to Iowa. Mitch attended schools in the Spirit Lake area and later earned his GED. He lived in various places in Iowa before he settled in Laurens in 2018. He worked for Fisher Hydraulics for short time, then Bobalee in Laurens until his passing.

Mitch enjoyed fishing, pets, building fish tanks, and time spent with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his partner, Kim Priester of Laurens; daughter, Jackie Nehring of Laurens; step-son, Aaron Priester of Laurens; grandchildren, Willow and Kynley; mother, Karmin Jansen of Fort Dodge, and siblings, Montana, Nacoma, Brian, Stephen, Emily and Elizabeth.

Mitch was preceded in death by his father, Richard Wells.

A Celebration of Life for Mitch was held on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, at the Downtown Park in Laurerns from 2-4 PM.
