Patrick R. James - age 45, of Waterloo, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022, at his home in Waterloo, Iowa.
Patrick Robert James was born an elder twin on March 17th, 1977, in Mankato Minnesota to William Robert James and Barbara Joyce (Gunn) Weum. He spent his earliest years in Mankato Minnesota, and attended school in Spirit Lake and later Okoboji Iowa. He graduated from Okoboji High School in 1995, and attended college at the University of Northern Iowa and later Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa, where he attained an Associate of Arts degree in network administration in 2002.
Patrick served the Iowa legislature for two terms as a clerk for Iowa House district 6 Representative Hon. Greg Stevens in Des Moines, Iowa, then made his home in Waterloo, Iowa, where he served for the last eighteen years as a network administrator with the Waterloo Community School District. He enjoyed his work, writing, cooking, and spending time with his friends, both in person and online.
Patrick was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara J. Weum, brother Dale L. Weum, and his grandparents.
Patrick is survived by his parents, William and Jan James of Milford, Iowa; brothers, David M. Weum of Waterloo Iowa and Timothy C. James of Ringsted, Iowa; sister Keli King of Sheldon, Iowa, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.
