Phyllis C. Aschenbrenner of Laurens, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at the Laurens Care Center in Laurens, Iowa.

Phyllis Carol Aschenbrenner was born November 3, 1928, in Rolfe, Iowa. She was the daughter of Guy and Dollie (Keeton) Cox. Phyllis attended schools in Rolfe and Pocahontas and graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1947. In 1947, she married Lowell White. They lived in Laurens for several years before moving to Pocahontas. Phyllis worked as a waitress at various restaurants in Laurens and Pocahontas. On June 15, 1971, Phyllis married Dwight Aschenbrenner in Sac City, Iowa. The couple settled in Laurens. In later years, Phyllis worked as a receptionist at the Powers Funeral Home in Laurens.

Phyllis was an active member of the United Methodist Church. She was a past member of the Rebecka Lodge, Womans Club, V.F.W and American Legion. Phyllis also volunteered her time helping with congregate meals over the years. Phyllis enjoyed reading, volunteering and playing in the 500 card club. She thoroughly enjoyed dancing in the early years, especially with Dwight. The time spent with her family and friends brought her the most joy.

Survivors include her daughters, Sue Reese of Laurens, Tami (Lars) Tendal of Laurens; son, Jeffrey White (special friend, Cindy) of Manning; stepson, Don (Sue) Aschenbrenner of Laurens; step-daughters, Carolyn (Charlie) Sandvig of Fort Dodge and Alice (Dan) Watson of Cedar Rapids; many grand and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dwight, one grandson, one great-granddaughter, four sisters and one brother.
