Raymond E. Dewey Jr., age 91, of Rolfe, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at West Bend Health and Rehab in West Bend, Iowa.

Raymond Edward Dewey Jr. was born October 13, 1933, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of Raymond Sr. and Mae (Jermeland) Dewey. Raymond attended Fort Dodge Schools, then began his working career at a brick yard in Fort Dodge. After a short time at the brick yard, he worked for Hormel Foods in Fort Dodge. In 1953, Raymond was united in marriage to Barbara Bloom in Dayton, Iowa. The couple later moved to the farm near Rolfe in 1965, where Raymond farmed and continued to work for Hormel Foods. Barbara passed away in 1981. On January 9th of 1982, Raymond was united in marriage to Gloria Jarvis at the Methodist Church in Gilmore City, Iowa. Raymond retired from Hormel Foods in 1984 after 33 years, but he continued to farm until his passing.

Raymond loved to farm, spend time at the lake, fishing, and working on home projects. He processed his own meat and in his younger years owned and cared for horses. He enjoyed spending time with his dog, Maggie, but Raymond especially loved the time he spent with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria of Rolfe; children, Barbara Zeman of Rolfe, Ed (Becky) Dewey of Pocahontas, Shelly (Brad) Anderson of Blairsburg and Sherry (Doug) Allen of Schaller; step-children, Vicki (Gary) Nilles of Gilmore City, William (Chandra) Thurston of Denver, CO, Lisa (Dan) Tool of Gilmore City, Connie (John) Jordan of Ames and Charles Jarvis of Ruthven; 25 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Sandy Jordison of Coalville, and daughter-in-law, Connie Dewey of Rolfe.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; son, Guy; grandson, Trinity Dewey; great-granddaughter, Adelynn Mae; brother and his wife, Ronald and Liz; son-in-law, Terry Zeman; daughter-in-law, Kelli Jarvis, and brother-in-law, Don Jordison.
