Rebecca S. Edwards, age 65, of Laurens, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa. No services are planned.

Rebecca Sue Edwards was born on January 16, 1961, in Inglewood, California to parents LeRoy and Erika (Coukup) Edwards. She was raised in California and graduated from Los Amigos High School in Fountain Valley, California. She continued her education at cosmetology school and spent time modeling in California. Becky married Paul Fansega and to this union, John and Rachael were born. The divorced and Becky married Steve Fales and to this union, their son Levi was born. Becky moved to Iowa in 1992, living in several towns in northwest Iowa until she settled in Laurens. Becky and Steve later divorced and Becky met Al Desimpelaere. Together their son, Brandon, was born. They later separated and Becky met Andrew Rich, her partner for the past several years. Becky worked as a nanny and did caretaking. She also worked for Pengo in Laurens for a few years.

Becky enjoyed puzzles, scrabble, music and owned all episodes of The Twilight Zone. She loved animals and the beach and she was at peace with life and Jesus.

Survivors include her children, John (Kristin) Fansega of Laurens; Rachael (Marcos) Linares of Moreno Valley, CA; Levi Fales of Laurens and Brandon Desimpelaere of Laurens; 7 grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Edwards of Corona, CA and David Edwards of Cypress, CA and sister, Ruth Nevarez of Hemet, CA.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Erika.
