Rob M. Freeburg, age 49, of Pocahontas, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, at home in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Robert Mauritz Freeburg III was born September 7, 1973, in Pocahontas, Iowa.  He was the son of Richard and Margaret (DeWall) Freeburg. Rob attended school in Pocahontas where he was active in golf, football, track and FFA.  He held honors in football all four years of  high school and served as FFA Chapter President for two years.  Rob graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1992.  Following graduation, he went to college and played football under scholarship at WestMar University, which was short-lived due to an injury. Rob returned to Pocahontas and started work at Pocahontas Ford, where they sent him to the Ford Asset Program in Minneapolis. He graduated from the program in 1996 and began a full-time position at Pocahontas Ford.

On November 16, 1996, Rob was united in marriage to Heidi Samuelson near Palmer, Iowa. The couple settled in Pocahontas. In 2001, they welcomed their first son, Colton Robert, in 2003 Caleb Samuel and in 2007, Caden Aaron.  Rob worked as Service Manager at Pocahontas Ford where he received numerous awards over the years. He was proud to continue his education and achieved the Senior Master Technician Certificate, which he maintained for over 20 years.

Rob enjoyed spending time with family on special vacations, golfing, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of Hope United Methodist Church and the Pocahontas Golf Club. He enjoyed spending time with his boys detailing vehicles and coaching their MYFL football teams; he served as an MYFL Director for a number of years.  Rob was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed following the Pocahontas Area Indians, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Chicago Bears. He was a skillful mechanic, having started at a young age in his father and uncle's full service gas station.

Survivors include his children, Colton of Cherokee, Caleb of Ankeny, and Caden of Pocahontas, Heidi Freeburg of Pocahontas, and a sister, Sarah Freeburg of Pocahontas.  Rob was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Margaret.
