Robert W. Bailey, age 83, of Laurens, passed away Monday, December 18, 2023, at the Longhouse-Northshire Nursing Home in Spencer, Iowa.

Robert Wayne Bailey was born on February 18, 1940, on a farm near Laurens. He was the son of Kenneth and Maxine (Adair) Bailey. He graduated from the Laurens High School in 1958. On August 11, 1963, Robert was united in marriage to Judy Stover in Laurens, Iowa. The couple settled on a farm near Ware, where they farmed and raised their family. In the mid-1970s, they moved to the Bailey Farm near Laurens. Judy passed away in 1999 and Bob continued to live on the farm.

Bob was a member of the United Methodist Church and Grace Lodge #519. He enjoyed keeping a close eye on the corn and soybeans, attending the races in Knoxville and having coffee with friends.

Survivors include his children, Dave (Denise) Bailey of Laurens, Brian (Jana) Bailey of Knoxville, Dennis (Annie) Bailey of Waukee; grandchildren, Justin (Alyssa) Bailey, Cory Bailey, Brady (Madison) Bailey, Connor Bailey, Carter Bailey, Amber (Dylan) Fontenot, Kristal (Jeff) Luft and Brandon (Stephanie) Mayland ; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Gary (Shoco) Bailey and Sharon (Doyle) Nehr.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy and a brother, Clifford Bailey.
