Obituary

Robert "Bob" Brown, 95, died Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the Lake City Cemetery. A memorial
celebration will be held at a later date. Lampe & Powers Funeral Home in Lake City is assisting the family.
Robert I. Brown was born on May 7, 1925 in Albany, NY to Arthur and Anna (Ross) Brown. After graduating from high school in 1943, Bob served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1943-1946. He was a class bugler and a member of the Pilot Aviation Air Traffic Control Cadet Program. He attended Penn State and Albany Business College. Bob worked on workers compensation claims
and retired as Vice President at Alexander & Alexander Insurance Company in San Francisco, CA. He was also contributing editor for Claims Magazine. On September 2, 1950, Bob was united in marriage to Joan Leonard in Canajoharie, NY and together they celebrated 70 years of marriage.
Bob was a member of the Lake City Union Church, American Legion, Shriners, and Shrine Band. Over the years, Bob was leader of several dance bands in New York and California.
Bob is survived by his wife Joan of Lake City; daughters Peggy Galletley of Lake City and Barbara Cowell of Corona, CA; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Cindy Ryssman; granddaughter Jennifer Ryssman; brother Arthur Brown, Jr.; and sister Marian Smith.
