Robert J. Dishey – age 74, of Pocahontas, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at his home in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Robert Joseph Dishey was born on February 3, 1948, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was the son of Joseph and Margaret (Lally) Dishey. He graduated from Bassick High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1965. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1966 - 1970. On February 19, 1971, Robert was united in marriage to Linda Marazoff in Stratford, CT. The couple lived in Milford, CT where Robert worked for Shell Oil, then for Buckley Brothers as a barge worker. He then did maintenance work for DataSwitch in Connecticut. In the mid 1990's Bob moved to Pocahontas, Iowa. He worked in maintenance at the Fonda Care Center and at the care center is where he met his life partner, Sandy. He lived in Fonda for many years. In 2019 Bob began working at Brand FX near Pocahontas. Bob and Sandy moved to Pocahontas in 2022.

Bob was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and bowling.

Survivors include his daughter, Lisa (Shane) Frideres of Algona; his soulmate, Sandy Christensen of Pocahontas and her children, Joshua (Alicia) Christensen of Omaha, NE and Sarah Christensen of Newell; 9 grandchildren, Christina (Cody Howard) Palmieri, Justin (Melissa Knockel) Palmieri, Lena Palmieri, Emily (Eric Olerud) Palmieri, Marissa Frideres, Katience Christensen, Carter Christensen, Kolby Christensen and Thea Christensen; 3 great-grandchildren, Ashton Howard, Joseph Palmieri, and Lily Palmieri, and sister-in-law, Ann Dishey of Hortense, GA. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Francis Dishey.
