Robert E. Studer – age 78, of Plover, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at the Pocahontas Manor in Pocahontas, Iowa.
Robert Edward Studer was born July 2, 1940, near Mallard, Iowa. He grew up on the farm near Mallard. He graduated from Mallard Catholic Grade School and went on to graduate from Mallard High School. Bob worked at Iowa Industrial Hydraulics near Pocahontas. He retired as the Maintenance Supervisor in 2001 after 35 years of service. Bob was also an instructor at Iowa Central Community College for several years in their boiler maintenance program. He also operated a motorcycle repair shop "Bob's Cycle Shop" in Plover for many years.
Bob lived in Plover for many years and served with the Plover Fire Dept., on the city council and as mayor of Plover. He loved motorcycles, camping, kids and grandkids. He committed his life to following Jesus Christ in the 1980's. In his final years, he enjoyed worshiping at the New Hope community Chapel in Emmetsburg.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy of Plover; children, Brian Studer of Apachie Junction, AZ, Anne (Randy) Schipper of Ackley, PegR. (Peder) Stusen of Gilbert, AZ, and Rusty Studer of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Amanda (Lon) Dix, Staff Sgt. Kyle (fiancé, Nicole Barney) Schipper, MirandaRae Stusen, Sarabella Stusen and Madison Studer; great-granddaughter, Mallory Dix; brother-in-law, John Shirk of Emmetsburg and numerous nieces & nephews with whom he shared a love of anything with a motor. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Joe and Raymond Studer and seven brothers & sisters.
