Ronald William "Bill" Kinney of Havelock, Iowa passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27th, 2024, at Lakeside Lutheran Senior Center in Emmetsburg surrounded by his beloved family.

Ronald William Kinney was born on April 10, 1937 in Little Point, Indiana. He was the son of Sullivan and Myrtle (Reeder) Kinney.   He graduated from Eminence High School in 1955 and was united in marriage to Sybil Francisco in 1955 in Plainville, Indiana.   They later moved to Havelock, Iowa for an employment opportunity.  He worked at several hydraulic cylinder manufacturing companies before working as a scale operator at Land O Lakes plant in Vincent, Iowa until retiring in 2009.

Bill was a former member of Havelock Fire Department and EMT for several years. Having his family around for visits and family get-togethers, receiving phone calls, messages, texts and video calls was one of his greatest pleasures.  He enjoyed watching the grandchildren and great grandchildren work at and achieve their goals, whether it be education, work or the many sports or hobbies they pursued and enjoyed.  He was always proud of any achievements and was their biggest supporter and their greatest cheerleader.  He never stepped away from making a friendly bet of any kind for a Coca Cola.

Survivors include his wife Sybil Kinney of Emmetsburg, Iowa, children Robert Kinney and Life Partner Cindy Pickett of Iowa City, Cathy (Dennis) Fuchs or Laurens, Iowa, Cary Randall of Alpha, Minnesota, Cheri (Bill) Eaton of Eagle Grove, Iowa, Michael Hawelu of Los Angeles, California, grandchildren Rob (Monica) Kinney of Waukee, Lindsey (Cory) Strack of Omaha, Nebraska, Morgan (Kevin) Olson of Albert City, Iowa, Brynn (Chris) McGrew of Douglass, Kansas, Jordan Kleen of Milford, Iowa, Nolan Randall of Algona, Iowa, Nikole Bennett of Havelock, Iowa, Adam Enockson of Emmetsburg, Iowa and Jackson Hawelu of Los Angeles, California, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Barb Whitt, Mildred Edwards, Ruth Steele, Rosemary Fenwick, Gertrude Stierwalt, brother Melvin Kinney and daughter Candy Kinney.
