Rosemarie Kruse, age 81, of Lake City, IA, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023, at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll, IA. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday at the Lampe & Powers Funeral Home in Lake City, IA. The Burial will happen Friday in the Beaver Catholic Cemetery in Granger, IA. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the Lampe & Powers Funeral Home in Lake City, Iowa. Rosemarie Maria was born on September 22, 1941, to parents Friedrich and Rosa (Price) Görgen in Trier, Germany.  She grew up in Germany where she was baptized, confirmed, and attended school.

In March of 1960, Rosemarie was united in marriage to Dennis Kruse back in Trier, Germany and later divorced after 17 years of marriage.  Shortly after marriage, the two moved to the United States in December of 1960. Together they were blessed with five children: Debi, Randy, Scott, Kurt, and Jason.  Rosemarie worked various jobs throughout her life.  She was the school cook for the Lake City school district, a Certified Nurse Assistant for Stewart Memorial Community Hospital, and a homemaker.  Rosemarie was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary Club and loved to go shopping.  She was a musical person and enjoyed listening to Polka music, playing her harmonica, and playing the piano.  Most of all, Rosemarie cherished the time spent with her family and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Debi (Kirk) Citurs of Scranton, IA, Randy (Lesley) Kruse of Lake City, IA, Scott (Diane) Kruse of Dallas Center, IA, Kurt (Debbie) Kruse of Dallas Center, IA, and Jason Kruse of Lake City, IA; grandchildren: Catherine Kruse, Kallen (Chris) Gilliland, Elizabeth Kruse, Wyatt Kruse, Paige Citurs, Graceann Kruse, Madeline Kruse, and Kyle Kruse; great-grandson Brantley Gilliland.

Rosemarie was preceded in death by her parents; her partner of 28 years, John Paulsen; and siblings: Ava Kuhn, Heinrich Görgen, Margot Pacem, Hildagard Horsch, and Friedrich Görgen.
