PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICES will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the Powers Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Iowa.

BURIAL will be held at Achilles Friends Church Cemetery in Gloucester Point, Virginia.

Ruby Walker Tabor – age 70, of Mallard, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020 at her home in Mallard, Iowa.

Ruby Lois West was born on June 23, 1950 in Guinea, Virginia. She was the daughter of George and Lillian (Jenkins) West. She attended Achilles School in Guinea, VA. In 1970, Ruby married Joseph Walker Jr. in Achilles, VA. Ruby spent her entire working career as a fish processor at the Haywood Seafood Company in Maryus, VA. She retired in the mid-late 1980s. Joseph passed away in 2005. In 2009, Ruby married William "Bill" Tabor in Mathews, VA. The couple lived in Mathews, VA until June of 2012 when they moved to Mallard, Iowa.

Ruby loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards and collecting dolls.

Survivors include her husband, Bill; daughters, Amy Walker of Middlesex, VA, Mary (Scott) Reeves of Pocahontas, IA, Rachel Haley of Havelock, IA and son, Joe (Monica) Walker of Pocahontas, IA; 13 grandchildren, Lewis West, Scott (Danielle) Reeves Jr., Christopher (Megan) Reeves, Jennifer (Justin) Walker, Holly (Isaiah) Harrington, Brian Reeves, Sarah (Josh) Barker, Nicholas (Sheila) Haley, Matthew Haley, Brooklynn Haley, Joseph Teddy Walker, Adam Walker, and Cloey Walker; 20 great-grandchildren, Harper Reeves, Kennedy Reeves, Emersyn Reeves, Brielle Reeves, Jack Reeves, Lily Reeves, Rosalee Reeves, Ruby Walker, Mary Walker, Oliver Walker, Gus Walker, Scarlette Harrington, Tucker Harrington, Charlie Harrington, Joshua Barker, Jameson Barker, Joseph Haley, Brantley Haley, Ashlynn Haley, and Jackson Haley; and brothers, Ernest West, James West, and Raymond West, all of Guinea, VA.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ted Walker; first husband, Joseph Walker Jr. and many brothers and sisters.
