Ruth Delores Peters, age 91, of Manson, Iowa, passed away at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge, Iowa on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Ruth Delores Bruner was born on Thursday, March 23, 1933, to Harry and Ernestine (Rickard) Bruner at their home near Bradgate, Iowa. The family lived in the Bradgate and Gilmore City areas.

Ruth attended country school through the sixth grade and then attended Gilmore City schools, graduating with the class of 1951.

Shortly after graduation, she married Eldon Peters in Blue Earth, MN. Eldon was in the Army and they lived off base in Kansas until Eldon was sent to Germany. Upon discharge they began farming in the Palmer and Manson areas where they raised their family. They were members of St. John Lutheran Church (Lizard Twp.) near Palmer, Iowa.

Ruth was a homemaker, avid gardener, and quilter. She shared her abundant produce with friends and family. She was famous for her sweet pickles, cucumber relish and pickled beets. She quilted countless baby and bed-sized beauties for family and friends.

Ruth was very patriotic flying a flag and purchased many for family to do the same. She was known to order flags flown over the U.S. Capitol for occasions such as weddings, graduations, and special anniversaries.

Ruth was a wonderful hard-working mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She never hesitated to help out, be it painting walls, moving family, and babysitting grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Lynn Johnson of Pocahontas, Mark (Sondra) Peters of Fort Dodge and Kaye (Mark) Knowles of Manson, and son-in-law, Michael Pierce of Omaha, NE; 9 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Ruth in death were her parents; husband, Eldon (2015); daughter, Gale (2024); s on-in-law, Dean Johnson (2013), and great-granddaughter, Josie Bailey Johnson (2014), .

Memorials may be directed in Ruth's name to the Paula J. Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
