Shirley Wine, age 91 of Lake City, IA, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City, IA. Shirley Ann Murray was born on September 8, 1931, in Mahaska, KS, to parents P.O. "Pat" and Emma Clarissa (Ginn) Murray.  When she was four years old, Shirley and her family moved to Ulmer, IA, where she attended country school and graduated from Lake View High School.

On April 22, 1951, Shirley was united in marriage to Ray G. Wine at the Baptist Church in Lake City, IA, they celebrated 60 years of marriage.  This union was blessed with three children: Raylene, Steve, and Jeff.  Together they raised their family in Lake City where Shirley worked at Blair's Flower and Gift Shop for 33 years. She was a seamstress and sewed for people when they had projects that they couldn't complete themselves.  Shirley was also the housekeeper for the Baptist Church for fifty years.  She was very involved in her church and enjoyed listening to Christian singing.

In her free time, Shirley loved baking, quilting, and helping with the rummage sale at the Baptist Church.  She also enjoyed playing bingo and doing jigsaw puzzles, and crafts.  She was very talented and could play the piano and organ.  Shirley and her son Steve played cards and attended activities out at Shady Oaks almost daily. Shirley always made sure she was visiting her friends in the nursing home and was always the person to help someone in need.  Most of all, Shirley cherished the time spent with her family. Shirley spent the last 5 years out at Shady Oaks Care Center. She will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Raylene (Randy) Hausman of Lake City, IA, Steve Wine of Lake City, IA, and Jeff (Laura) Wine of Lake City, IA; grandchildren: Trent and Brent Hausman, Josh Wine, Stephanie (Tim) Blunt, Raven (Odie Sr.) Lofton; Renie (Seth) Osterlund, Jennifer (Aly) Custer, and Colton (El) Turnas; great-grandchildren: Tristan and Jade Blunt, Odie Lofton Jr., Benjamin and Braiden Wine, Rebba (Gerald), Cheyenne, Sydney, Oliva, Brody, Lily, Carson, Emersyn, Dash, and Delta.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Ray Wine; brothers Bill Murray and Elden Murray; parents P.O. (Pat) and Emma Murray; and grandson Jacob Wine.
