Steve Vote, age 74 of Lohrville, IA, passed away on March 5, 2024, at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy in Omaha, NE.  Steven Ray Vote was born on June 11, 1949, in Lake City to parents Donald "Barney" and Beverly (Archer) Vote.  He grew up in Gowrie, IA, where he graduated from Prairie High School.  On August 30, 1968, Steve enlisted in the United States Army, earning the rank of PVT-E with a sharpshooter award.  He was honorably discharged on June 14, 1974.

On September 23, 1972, Steve was united in marriage to Terri Waters.  This union was blessed with four children: Derek, Brian, Lindsay, and Lucas.  Together, they raised their family in the Lohrville area where Steve raised cattle, hogs, and crops and was a truck driver hauling grain.  Steve loved the outdoors and taking care of his yard and garden.  In his free time, you could find him playing Sudoku and attending many of his grandchildren's events.   Most of all, Steve cherished his time spent with his family.  His grandchildren were his whole world and always found their way onto his lap!

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 51 years, Terri Vote of Lohrville, IA, children: Derek (Sophia) Vote of Windsor, CO, Brian (Ann) Vote of New Ulm, MN, Lindsay (Kevin) Machovec of Rockwell City, IA, and Lucas (Jacquelyn) Vote of Lake City, IA; grandchildren: Tadeo, Thais, Tobias, Jacob, Ella, Landon, Matt, Lacy, Mackenzie, Nolan, Mason, Kennadie, Kinley and Kaleb; siblings: Craig (Karen) Vote of Harcourt, IA, and Marcia Vote of Fort Dodge, IA.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents.

The Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Lohrville United Methodist Church with the burial to follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Lohrville, Iowa. The Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday at the United Methodist Church in Lohrville, Iowa.
