Susan K. Pedersen, age 76, of Laurens, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen, Iowa.

Susan Kaye Trimble was born December 11, 1948, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She was the daughter of Jim and Margaret (Nicol) Trimble. Sue attended Plover Schools and graduated from the Rolfe High School in 1967. She continued her education at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville. On February 28, 1969, Sue was united in marriage to Joseph Pedersen at the Methodist Church in Plover, Iowa. The couple lived in Ames while Joe attended Iowa State, then in 1972, they settled in Laurens. Sue was a homemaker until the late 1990s when the kids were raised. She worked at R.B. Lumber until she retired in 2007 to care for her grandchildren.

Sue was a member of Evangelical Free Church in Albert City and was a 4-H Leader. She enjoyed reading, baking, canning and spending time with family.

Survivors include her husband, Joe of Laurens; children, Greta (Craig) Southall of Indianola, Holly (Ryan) Lockrem of Nemaha and Matthew (Erin) Pedersen of Laurens; 6 grandchildren, Justice, Calvin, Gus, Liberty, Lucas and Emma; brother, Steve (Jean) Trimble of Plover; sisters, Diane Siefkes of Richland Center, WI, Barb (Bill) Post of Decorah, Vicki (Michael) Oetken of New Ulm, MN, Cheryl Blaha of Winterset, Marlene (Lyle) Griswald of Menlo and Angie (Felix) Aguirre of Warminster, PA and many nieces and nephews.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Christine Budd and brother-in-law, Dave Siefkes.
