Tammy Hankey, age 62 of Rockwell City, IA, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at her home in Rockwell City.  Tammy Ann was born on May 18, 1962, in Mountain View, CA, toparents Richard Knowlton and Patricia (Pool) White.  She was later adopted by her mother's husband, Stanley White.  Tammy attended grade school and graduated from Leland High School in San Jose, CA.

On July 9, 1981, Tammy was united in marriage to Gene Hankey in Eureka, CA.  This union was blessed with three children: Jospeh, Amanda, and Heidi.  Tammy worked various jobs throughout her life.  She worked in the Deli at the Safeway Grocery Store in Santa Clara, CA, was a Deli manager in Albertsons, WA, and a cashier at Higgins Grocery Store.

Tammy enjoyed the outdoors and going to the pool, sitting around a fire, driving over to Lake View for their Stone Pier Concerts, Santa Cruise, CA, her favorite spot to visit with Gene.  She was an animal lover of German Shepards and cats, and liked to read and listen to music.  Most of all, Tammy cherished her time with her grandchildren and family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her adoptive father Stanley White of Grass Valley, CA; children: Joseph Hankey of Fort Dodge, IA, Amanda (Tim) Klatt of Sac City, IA, Heidi Schade of Fort Dodge, IA; grandchildren: Makyia, James, Sophia, and Landen Schade, Brantley and twins Klatt; siblings: Rick (Audra) White of Pine Grove, CA, Kymberly (Darren) Castellano of Elko, NV, Mike White of Manteca, CA, Lisa (Doug) Rasch of Reno, NV, Sean White of Grass Valley, CA, and Carol White of Marysville, CA.

Tammy was preceded in death by her husband Gene Hankey, mother, and brother Todd White.

A Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m, Thursday March 27, 2025, at the Woodlawn Christian Church in Lake City, Iowa.
