Terry R. Perry – age 69, of Pocahontas, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at his home in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Terry R. Perry was born April 28, 1953, in Storm Lake, Iowa. He was the son of Thomas and Carolyn (Runneberg) Perry. Terry graduated from the Havelock-Plover High School in 1971. He went on to Iowa State University, where he graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Administration and Finance. Terry began his work in insurance and then returned to farming in 1979 in the Havelock area until 1985. Terry continued his career in the insurance industry, joining The Hartford in different capacities living in Kansas City, San Francisco, Sacramento, San Antonio, and completed his tenure as the Director of Commercial Underwriting in 2009. He went on to serve as the Senior Underwriter of the Connecticut Interlocal Risk Management Agency. In 2017, Terry retired and returned to Iowa.

In his high school years, Terry enjoyed playing baseball and basketball. In his later years, he enjoyed golfing, attending Iowa State University events, outdoor activities, traveling, and the ocean. Terry especially loved the time he spent with his family and friends.

Survivors include Kay Perry, mother to his son, Jesse Perry of the Philippines; daughter, Erin Perry of Spring, Texas; grandchildren, Ava, Isabel, and Samantha. Dolores Bonet; and her daughters, Caitlyn (Mario) DeRosa and Meghan (Dan) Hickey all of Connecticut; and sisters, Gayle (Don) Thompson of Cedar Falls; Kim Perry of DePere, WI, and nieces Kate Thompson and Lesley Thompson both of Ankeny.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Carolyn and grandparents, Lawrence and Alma Runneberg and Cyrus and Hazel Perry.
