Terry R. Terrill passed away Friday, May 15, 2020, at the Pocahontas Manor in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Terry Robert Terrill was born March 8, 1939, and adopted by B.A."Bus" and Grace (Rasmussen) Terrill. The family lived in Sioux City, IA, moved to Portland, Oregon, in 1942 while Bus worked at the shipyards for the Navy, and moved back to Sioux City in 1946. The family later moved to Le Mars, Iowa and then to Spirit Lake, IA. Terry graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1957. After graduating, Terry worked as an accountant at Swift Sioux City. Later, at Grace's urging, Terry attended Buena Vista College and graduated in 1963. He taught English for 35 years at Charles City High School in Charles City, Iowa, until he retired in 1998 (but he still corrected our English).

Terry loved gardening, and his lawn was often featured in the Garden Walk in Pocahontas. He was well-versed in a variety of subjects and loved to discuss things with family, friends, and anyone else who would listen. Terry loved going to the Pizza Ranch nine times a week and visiting his friends there.

He was a past member of the Presbyterian Church in Pocahontas until it closed.

Terry is survived by his cousins Kent Rasmussen of Homer, David (Della) Rasmussen of Homer, Rita Rasmussen (Chuck) Peterson of Bennet, NE, Rod (Mary) Terrill of Smithland, Iowa, Jan Campbell of Osage Beach MO, Ted (Edna) Rasmussen, Hawaii, Sally Rasmussen Ream, Brandon SD, Carol R Wahl, Albuquerque NM, Al (Carol) Levine of South Sioux City, NE, Dick Levine of Omaha, NE, recently found half sister Marleen (Glenn) Herbolsheimer of Scribner, NE, family friends Barb and Steve Barnhardt of Pocahontas, and Angie Point of Plover; and numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, B.A, "Bus" and Grace Terrill and cousins, Ralph Rasmussen, Eleanor Lieber, Harold Rasmussen, Russell Rasmussen, Shirley Johnson, Donald & Margret Rasmussen, Edwin & Ada Levine, Harry & Sena Rasmussen, Lawrence & Gladys Rasmussen, Francis & Marie Rasmussen, Earl & Margaret Rasmussen.

PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICES WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY, MAY 21, 2020, AT POWERS FUNERAL HOME IN POCAHONTAS WITH BURIAL AT THE MEMORIAL PARK CEMETERY IN SIOUX CITY, IOWA.
