Thomas E. Vodraska, age 87, of Osceola, formerly of Pocahontas County, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola, Iowa.

Thomas Edward Vodraska was born on March 4, 1936, near Havelock, Iowa. He was the son of Louis and Evelyn (Kelsey) Vodraska. He attended Pocahontas Catholic School in Pocahontas, Iowa. On July 20, 1962, Tom was united in marriage to Vicky Reed in Jackson, MN. The couple lived in the Spencer area where they worked at the Center Café in Spencer and Tom also worked in the trucking business. In 1976, they moved to Bradgate and Tom continued to work as a truck driver. Vicky passed away in 1999 and in 2003 Tom moved to Osceola to be near family.

Tom enjoyed working on cars and trucks, listening to music and relaxing by a nice fire pit. He loved the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Gina (Doug) Olson of Osceola; Betty Freese of Osceola and Thomas K. Vodraska of Pocahontas; four grandchildren, Scott Olson, Matthew Olson, Jacey Vodraska and Shayden Vodraska; two great-grandchildren, Emerie and Raegan Olson; and sisters, Bernadine Reis of Humboldt and Pat Jensen of Gilmore City.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vickey; an infant son, Louis; sisters, Kathryn Fitzgerald and Marcella McCord and brothers, Francis, Larry and Joseph Vodraska.
