Timothy J. Ricklefs – age 76, of Gilmore City, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022 in Winfield, Alabama.

Timothy Joe Ricklefs was born on October 17, 1945, in Gilmore City, Iowa. He was the son of Bernard and Edmondeane (Hodgell) Ricklefs. He attended school in Rolfe, Iowa.  Following his education, Tim settled south of Rolfe and became a lifelong farmer. He was passionate about farming, and besides his family, it was his greatest joy in life. Tim was united in marriage to Darlene Nielsen in 1963. This marriage was dissolved in 1973. He was united in marriage to Jann (Brinkman) Ricklefs in Rolfe on March 6, 1976. Tim was a proud father of seven children, 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. By working hard, he provided the best life for his family.

Tim was always making creative projects in the shop; he could fix, make, or build anything. He also had the pleasure of selling seed corn for Garst for many years. In his younger years he enjoyed square dance calling at several venues around the area. He loved polka dancing, singing, and participated in the Rolfe Ecumenical Choir and Humboldt Community Chorus. He was a member of the Rolfe Presbyterian Church, Shared Ministries, and Golf Club. Camping, traveling, golfing, and car racing were just a few of his hobbies. Tim was a regular morning participant for many years in town for coffee and the local 'board meeting'. Special memories were made golfing and time spent with his 'other brother' Ron Dreith.  He and Jann enjoyed spending time in the summer at Lost Island Lake and winters in Florida the past few years. Tim's jovial spirit, ornery personality, sense of humor, and bright smile will be missed the most.

Survivors include his wife, Jann Ricklefs of Gilmore City; children, Jolene (Jim) Applegate of Van Meter, Janiece (Wade) Sehman of St. Charles, Jennifer (Jeff) Seiler of Port Charlotte, FL, Heather (Eddie) Edmonds of Turin, Brian (Katie) Ricklefs of Dakota City, and J.D. (Katy) Ricklefs of Cedar Rapids; 17 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; sister, Susan Trees of Austin, TX and brother, Ben (Kathy) Ricklefs of Rolfe. Tim was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jason Ricklefs.
