Thomas G. Smith – age 50, of Rolfe, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, at his home in Rolfe, Iowa.

Thomas Garland Smith was born September 10, 1970, in Sioux City, Iowa. He was the son of Garland and Connie (Krischel) Smith. He attended Havelock-Plover Schools and went on to graduate from Pocahontas High School in 1989. Tom attended Marquette University in Milwaukee then the University of Iowa. In December of 1991, Tom married JoDeanna Archer in Pocahontas. The couple lived in Chariton where Tom worked as a Physical Therapy Assistant. In 1997, Tom was united in marriage to Laura Poppen Higgins in LaCrosse, WI. The couple settled in Rolfe.   Tom worked for Swaney Equipment in Fort Dodge in customer service then as a sales representative. He worked for the City of Rolfe for 3 years as City Administrator. He then returned to work for Murphy Equipment in Fort Dodge as store manager and was currently working for Manson Red Power as parts manager.

Tom was a member of the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church and was a 4 ^th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He sang and did cantering at the church. He enjoyed entertaining, singing and going on road trips. Tom especially loved hanging out with his wife, Laura.

Survivors include his wife, Laura of Rolfe; children, Jade Smith of West Des Moines, Blake Smith of Fort Dodge, Tony Higgins of Rolfe and Zach Higgins of Chesterton, IN; mother, Connie Smith of Pocahontas and sister, Tami (Brent) Arnold of LeMars, Iowa. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Garland.
