Virginia Mae Jenkins

Virginia Mae (Pratt) Jenkins passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, at the age of 100. Born on May 14, 1926, in Auburn, Iowa, to Pearly and Leona Pratt, Virginia grew up on the family farm, where she developed a strong work ethic and an appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

After graduating from Auburn High School in 1944, Virginia moved to California, where she helped her older sister care for her children and began her career as a secretary.

Virginia enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and quilting, pursuits that reflected her curious mind and creative spirit. Throughout her long life, she touched those around her with her quiet strength, warmth, and love for her family.

She was predeceased by her parents, six siblings, her cherished husband, Seth P. Jenkins, and her beloved son, Seth Jenkins. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer; son-in-law, Dan; stepdaughter, Barbara; son-in-law, Peter; and her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held in her hometown of Auburn, Iowa, on October 21, 2026.

Virginia leaves behind a family who loved her and memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
