Virginia M. Krier - age 83, of Pocahontas, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020, at the Pocahontas Manor in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Virginia Marie Simon was born June 30, 1936, in Sioux City, Iowa. She was the daughter of Martin and Minnie (Jorgensen) Simon. She graduated from Heelan High School in 1954. She worked for 2 years for Northwestern Bell in Sioux City. On October 6, 1956, Virginia was united in marriage to Ron Krier in Sioux City. The couple moved to Sioux Falls for a short time until settling in the Laurens and Pocahontas area, where they farmed. Virginia enjoyed working part-time for the local Vet clinic for many years. Ron passed away in 2010 and Virginia continued to make her home in Pocahontas.

Virginia was a member of the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church and the Ladies Society. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting.

Survivors include her children, Bonnie (Tom) Berkemier of North Sioux City, S.D; Mary Lou Krier of Pocahontas; Richard (Judy) Krier of Omaha, NE and Tom (Wanda) Krier of Fonda, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Martin (Bonnie) Simon of Omaha, NE and John (Sandy) Simon of Fort Collins, CO. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ron and brother, Lawrence Simon.

PRIVATE GRAVESIDE SERVICES WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY, JULY 3, 2020, AT THE CALVARY CEMETERY IN POCAHONTAS WITH FATHER CRAIG COLLISON OFFICIATING.
