Yvonne F. Wenell, age 82, of Brooksville, Florida, formerly of Laurens, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, in Brooksville, Florida.

Yvonne Fern Hawley was born December 29, 1940, in Laurens, Iowa. She was the daughter of Orville and Fern (Stover) Hawley. Yvonne graduated from Laurens High School in 1958, then went on to attend secretarial school. On April 10, 1960, Yvonne was united in marriage to Ronald Wenell in Laurens. The couple settled on the Wenell family farm near Laurens. Yvonne worked at Wenell Jewelry Store in Laurens. She then worked at Hakes, Scrivner and Fleming Foods for many years and then for Jack Links for several years before retiring. Ron passed away in 2016. In 2017, Yvonne began wintering in Florida to be close to her family.

Yvonne was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Laurens Golf and Country Club. She and Ron enjoyed dancing and attending dances. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and following their events and activities.

Survivors include her daughter, Jill (Charlie) Phillip of Brooksville, Florida; son, Dean (Francesca) Wenell of DeLand, Florida; three grandchildren, Nate, Ava and Callie, and a brother, Harlan (LaVon) Hawley of Huron, SD.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ron; son, Gregg, and a granddaughter, Debbie Volkmann.
