Carie K. Lenz

Carie K. Lenz, age 41, of Carroll, formerly of Pomeroy, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Accura Healthcare of Pomeroy in Pomeroy, Iowa.

Carie Kathleen Lenz was born February 19, 1983, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to parents Jack Lenz and Kathy (Sorenson) Axman. Carie attended Pomeroy-Palmer High School where she enjoyed band and vocal, and competed in the Special Olympics, winning several awards. After graduation in 2002, she moved to Fort Dodge where she worked at The Village store and at Friendship Haven. Carie would often volunteer working with children, which she loved. She later moved to New Hope in Carroll where she participated in Day-Hab, having loved the people she worked with, especially her staff and roommates.

Carie was a part of the family at Faith Community Church, attending regularly with the help of her father, Jack, who would drive her from Carroll every week. She was very passionate about church and her faith. Carie enjoyed playing games, including bingo and cards, as well as singing, coloring and wearing jewelry and painting her nails. Carie loved visitors, but she especially loved time spent with her family. Her niece and nephews were her favorite and loved FaceTiming them.

Survivors include her father, Jack (Lesa) Lenz of Twin Lakes; brother, Westin (Corina McLain) Lenz of Manson; sister, Krista (Dominic) Johnson of Greenfield; grandmother, LaVonne Sorenson of Pomeroy; nieces and nephews, Ryzin Lenz and Briggs and Brielle Johnson; step-father, Kenny Axman Jr., and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Carie was preceded in death by her mother, Kathy Axman, and grandparents, Don and Eunice Lenz and Lester Sorenson.
